What Is Lennar Up To At Colonial Heritage?
Our community is one quarter of 1 percent (.25%) away from complete buildout. Lennar should have turned our community over to the HOA years ago when they hit between 75% and 85% completion based on a statistical analysis of national builder data, however we REMAIN under the complete control of Lennar Corp.
Why is this?
As homeowners, we should be very concerned. Lennar set’s our annual assessments and spends the assessments it collects as it sees fit. Regardless of what the covenants and bylaws state, we should have been fighting their continued control over our HOA and community several years ago.
This is frightening and very concerning–we need to start asking questions. And if we don’t get any answers, then we need to reach out to our legislators and the media.
- Why has Lennar has not turned the Colonial Heritage HOA over to the homeowners? Is this due to the fact that as the builder, they have been spending our assessments on projects around the community that should have been paid for by the builder?
- How much of our money–the HOA’s money has been expended on items & projects that should have been paid for by Lennar?
- Why has Lennar allowed the Golf Club to continue to hemorrhage money for years?
- Why has Lennar permitted the food and beverage services to bleed the HOA dry year in and year out?
- Who is watching to ensure Lennar is not acting out of line or is this a case of wolves in sheep’s clothing?
